I suppose the earthquake in Chile was a result of HAARP as well? Or maybe man made global warming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm waiting conspiracy theorists' and Al Gore. Whats your take on it?

Question, do you believe global warming is real or not?

ReplyDeleteI believe Global Warming is real, I just don't think it is the cause of everything that happens naturewise, you are going to have earthquakes no matter what and the ones that do happen and happen near water surrounded areas are going to cause tidal waves that create Tsunamis, it is the cycle of cause and effect. Do I think recycling is needed, of course with as much raw materials used to produce what we use, we need to replant trees after you cut down the ones for paper and such, recycle plastic and paper for renewable plastic and paper. These small things help preserve what is left of our supplies, also the more trees and plants that we plant the cleaner our air stays. Picking up trash from the ground so it stays outta our water helps also, doing our part to help lower the harm we do to our planet, our home helps us all. Yes, I know I just sounded like one of those GLOBAL WARMING is destroying our world, GO GREEN ppl, but on some points I do agree with somethings, I just DON'T BELIEVE that global warming is to blame for everything, the Earth has it's cycles, we are just going through one now.
ReplyDeletei do believe in global warming to a certain extent. Is it man made? Absolutely not
ReplyDeleteHow can we really study temperature increase compared to 1880. One of the top scientists that has been involved with climate change debate for years came out in an interview saying the avg temp from 1880 and other years from that time couldnt be accurately taken into consideration. Where were these temperatures taken from? How many of them were there? We have discussed this in my environmental science class too. If you take temp. readings in new york from 140 years ago comparedto today, of course there is going to be a temperature difference. Does that mean the earth is getting hotter. NO
ReplyDeleteIm not disputing climate change or the effects It's having on the earth, but I am disputing that is entirely humans fault.
Anyone that thinks its entirely the result of human influence is completely ignorant and only want to believe what they want to believe.
And also anyone that thinks that climate change isnt happening needs to rethink what they believe as well.
I have a bad memory but 2-3 years ago a guy came out with a book that talked about human interaction with earth and climate change. One VERY GOOD point that he made with regards to declining polar bear populations was, "If the polar bear populations were in so much trouble, then why are they still allowed to be hunted?" It's proven that climate change only resulted in 1 polar bear fatality per year at this time.
It's also a scientific fact that solar flares from the sun create a lot of energy and heat surges on earth as well. Are we to blame for that?
ReplyDeleteWhat is Climategate?
ReplyDeleteIn late November 2009, hackers unearthed hundreds of emails at the U.K.'s University of East Anglia that exposed private conversations among top-level British and U.S. climate scientists discussing whether certain data should be released to the public. [Do we know who the hackers were? Were they skeptics? Might be worth noting]
The email exchanges also refer to statistical tricks used to illustrate climate change? trends, and call climate skeptics idiots, according to the New York Times.
One such trick was used to create the well-known hockey-stick graph, which shows a sharp uptick in temperature increases during the 20th century. Former U.S vice president Al Gore relied heavily on the graph as evidence of human-caused climate change in the documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
The data used for this graph come from two sources: thermostat readings and tree-ring samples.
While thermostat readings have consistently shown a temperature rise over the past hundred years, tree-ring samples show temperature increases stalling around 1960.
On the hockey-stick graph, thermostat-only data is grafted onto data that incorporates both thermostat and tree-ring readings, essentially presenting a seamless picture of two different data sets, the hacked emails revealed.
But scientists argue that dropping the tree-ring data was no secret and has been written about in the scientific literature for years.
Climate change skeptics have heralded the emails as an attempt to fool the public, according to the Times.
Yet climate scientists maintain that these controversial points are small blips that are inevitable in scientific research, and that the evidence for human-induced climate change is much broader and still widely accepted.
WHY WHEN THESE SCIENTISTS DELIBERATELY LEAVE OUT FACTS THAT THEY KNEW WOULD HURT THEIR CAUSE, THEY TRY TO PLAY IT OFF AS, WELL THOSE FACTS HAVE BEEN OUT THERE FOR A LONG TIME. BUT WHEN IT IS DISPUTED, THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DISPUTING THE FACTS ARE CRAZY AND ARE JUST TRYING TO MAKE THEIR SIDE LOOK GOOD?
Just like big companies that have studies done by a so-called independent company use the statistics that make their company look good so will bigwig scientists. Stats are usually skewed to the point of view for the person wanting them found for something. Yes we have influenced our environment but we are not to blame for everything. Nature changes over the years, it adapts and evolves just like we do from our environment, influences from around us and outside of us. I have noticed over the past few years that I lived in Alabama it has gotten hotter during the summer last year but this winter it got colder then before, meh, saw the same thing growing up in BC, IA, winter and snow started to get early after the first few years I lived there and there started to be snow during Halloween but the first 3yrs or so it would be warm. Weather changes. meh, ppl just need to start being responsible for what they do with their waste more and do what's right to keep their family and area healthy for them and the kids.
